Catfish Night Bank Kit (Lights, Pliers, Bells, Comfort) — Utah Lake
A simple “night-shift” kit for Utah Lake channel catfish from shore: headlamp + spare light, bite indication, long pliers, gloves, chair, power, and a couple small upgrades that make night sessions safer and easier — with Amazon links.
The goal (simple + safe)
Utah Lake night catfishing is mostly about being organized: you want hands-free light, fast bite indication, and a clean “unhook station” so you’re not digging for pliers in the dark.
Lights
- Rechargeable headlamp with red mode (primary)
- Small handheld flashlight (backup — simple and bright)
- Clip-on lantern / area light (rigging + bait station)
Tip: red mode preserves night vision and is less annoying for nearby anglers.
Bite indication
Landing + unhooking
- Long-nose pliers (11–16") — the #1 night tool
- Fish handling gloves (grip + protection)
- Long-handle landing net (easier on steep banks)
Don’t risk it with fingers
If a catfish is deeply hooked, it’s often smarter to cut the line and deal with it calmly (or keep the fish if legal/ethical for you) than to wrestle a hook out blind.
Comfort + organization
Power + waterproofing
